Abstracts due by midnight: Monday, May 4th, 2026

The Harvard Department of Celtic Languages & Literatures cordially invites proposals for papers on topics which relate directly to Celtic Studies or Celtic languages and literatures in any phase; and papers on relevant cultural, historical, or social science topics, theoretical perspectives, etc. for the 45th annual Harvard Celtic Colloquium. Papers concerning interdisciplinary research with a Celtic focus are also invited.

Potential presenters should submit an abstract of 200-250 words and a brief biographical sketch. Submissions should be sent by e-mail to hcc@fas.harvard.edu. Please send submissions in the body of the email or as an attached Word document. For further information: https://celtic.fas.harvard.edu/harvard-celtic-colloquium.

Presentations should be no longer than twenty minutes, excluding a short discussion period after each paper. Papers given at the Colloquium may later be submitted for consideration by the editorial committee for publication in the Proceedings of the Harvard Celtic Colloquium.

The Colloquium will be an in-person event on the campus of Harvard University

on October 9-11, 2026. This year’s keynote speaker will be Professor A. Joseph McMullen of the Department of English, Indiana University.

The annual John V. Kelleher Lecture will be delivered by Professor Barry Lewis 

of the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies at 5pm on Thursday October 8, 2026. Reception to follow. All are welcome.
