Dr. Ciara Ní Riain
Dr. Ciara Ní Riain joined the Department of Celtic Languages and Literatures as a Lecturer in Spring 2025. Her research focuses on Irish language and literature on both sides of the Atlantic, particularly from the 17th century to the present day. These interests are linked by a concern with questions of nationalism, culture, and identity. She has also worked on post-medieval manuscript transmission and preservation as well as biographical narratives on the history of the American West. She teaches courses in Irish language, post-medieval literature, and Irish-language literature in America. Ciara Ní Riain holds a PhD in Modern Irish form University College Cork. cniriain@fas.harvard.edu
